AF-CADRE is participating in Race for a Reason! The event, which takes place on April 26th, is sponsored by OhioHealth/O’Bleness Hospital and has a “goal of raising $100,000 for charities and organizations and making it the largest charity-based race event Athens has ever seen.” Race for a Reason is AF-CADRE’s principal fundraiser, which we use to support Summer Fun for Special Kids, our day camp for children with special needs. Last year our Autism Society of Southeastern Ohio team raised nearly $1,600 towards camp expenses.
There will be four events: a 5K run, a 3K Walk, a Triathlon/Duathlon, and a tough-sounding mud run. For more information about a particular race or to register, go to http://ouraceforareason.com/registration. AF-CADRE is listed under “Autism.”
You can also support AF-CADRE and our Appalachian Ohio families by becoming a fundraiser or by simply making a donation. Go to http://www.imathlete.com/donate/Autism
